The Chevrolet Corvette is often referred to as the the "Original American Idol" according to Chevrolet.  It is definitely one car to be put up at the top of the list in sports cars, American or imports.
The Corvette is a sports car that was first manufactured by Chevrolet in 1953. It is built today exclusively at a General Motors assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, U.S.A.. It was the first all-American sports car built by an American car manufacturer. The National Corvette Museum is also located in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Pontiac Firebird, well not much was found but I did find a few sites that may interest you.  I know there has got to be more so if you know of some sites that you feel others may find useful please send them to me and I will post them.
